Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Tuesday 14th April 2026

Course Proper.

Outside rail

Track: Heavy 8

With the course proper restricted to horses racing within 7 days and trials at Foxton today, in terms of looking after the track, thankfully it was a light morning for gallops.

All but one pair worked over a 1000M this morning.

Time honours of the morning went to the Sharrock trained pair of Tullamore Dew and King Jackal, home in a respectable time of 38.4, considering the heavy track and being on the very outside.  King Jackal will head to Ellerslie on the weekend.

Zaconic and Chibrah also worked well, the last 600 in 38.8.

Kitzacat, solo over 1000M, handled the heavy and home in 39.1.

From the Patterson Barn Jaegar and One Bold Floozie were well held over 1200M, the last 600 in 39.6.  Miss Behave and Providz worked a solid 1000M, the last 600 in 39.9. Both will line up on Friday at Hawera for their first start.

Secrets and Bridie from the Sharrock Barn went 1000m, home in 39.4.  Bridie handled the heavy and could be one to watch at Hawera on Friday.

The Millar Barn has some nice young horses coming through, Prince of Diamonds galloped in company with Aint it Fun and Zuta Scooter solo over 1000M, home in 40.0 and 38.2 respectively.

Cotton Roca and Puddle of Mud were steady over 1000M, the last 600 in 40.2.  With the heavy tracks forecast for this week’s racing, here’s hoping Puddle of Mud handles the mud!
