Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Tuesday 21st March 2023

Course Proper:  True

Track:            Slow 5 Deteriorated

Quite a busy session in horrendous conditions – thunder, lightning and driving
heavy rain.

Belladonna Lily and Laddie Boy ran a strong 1200M, the last 600 in 37.4.
Belladonna Lily should be very hard to beat on her home track this Friday.

Time honours of the morning went to Persian Idol and an un-named
Naturalism from the Bolton stable. They ran 1000M, the last 600 in 37.1 – they
did work early in the session.

Maolla Miss and Bow Hills had the pace on over 1000M, home in 37.5. It was a
good gallop.

Beaudz Well and Abacus ran 1000M, the last 600 in 38.5.

Diogenes seemed to enjoy the deteriorating track when galloping 1000M with
Tequila Spirit, home in 37.5.

Cream galloped 1200M, picking up Tavattack at the 1000M. They ran the last
1000 in 38.9. This was a good effort as it was late in the session.

From the Harris stable Urenui and La Santana galloped 1000M, the last 600 in
37.8, both worked attractively.

Quality mare Sumi worked with Showusmore over 1000M, home in 37.8. Sumi
looked improved with her first up placing and should be very competitive next
start.

Tavianne and South Road did similar work home in 39.6.

The final gallops were all solo over 1000M with 600M times in brackets,
Unleashed (36.9), I’m Ronaldo (37.9), Ukanttouchthis (37.0) and Legally Blonde
(38.9).
Unleashed is in top form and should be competitive again next up.
