On a very quiet morning time honours went to I Deal and Butler who ran 1000M, home in 39.6. Trainer Allan Sharrock would have liked to get a jumpout into Butler but these were cancelled Monday due to weather. He still expects Butler to be fit enough to be competitive on Saturday.
2YO Carbonados and So Spicey ran 1000M, the last 600 in 40.2. Carbondados couldn’t have been a more impressive first-up winner.
Diogenes and Tequila Spirit ran 1000M, the last 600 in 41.8. Diogenes looks improved with his first up run.
Last start winner Urenui ran 1000M in company with Replica Road, the last 600 in 41.5. Urenui handled the heavy track well in its last victory.
Hot Shockolate ran 800M, the last 600 in 42.5, well held.
The final pairs from the Wheeler stable ran on the sand.
The Grinner and Beaudzwell ran 1600M the last 600 in 40.3, whilst stablemates Black Eyed Sue and Oso Savvy did identical work home in 39.8. Oso Savvy did identical work home in 39.8. Oso Savvy surprised connections by handling the heavy track in his hometown victory, last start.
Tiger Lily and Keen on Bubbles ran 800M, on the sand, the last 600 in 38.8. Tiger Lily was several lengths in front.
