Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Tuesday 24th January 2023

Course Proper:  Markers 22M

Track:            Good 4

 

Shamus and Sumi took time honours at the track this morning. They ran a strong 1000M the last 600 in 36.2.

 

Dream Machine and Zola Express were only slightly slower doing identical work they came home in 36.3.  It was an excellent gallop.

 

From the Wheeler stable Pinsk and Lord Donovan kept up a solid gallop over 1400M, the last 600 in 38.1.  Lord Donovan is due a win.

 

One Bold Cat and The Underbelly were evenly matched over 1200M, home in 38.2.  Both are in great form.

 

Oso Savvy had his first gallop back at the track this morning after a short break when running 1000M in company with Keen on Bubbles.  They ran the last 600 in 37.4.  Oso Savvy is being aimed at a possible Sydney Cup tilt.

 

Momento and Nom de Plume looked keen to go faster when running 1200M, home in 38.0.

 

I’m Ronaldo and an unnamed Derryn from the Sharrock barn ran an even 1000M, the last 600 in 38.8.

 

Pomalo and Miss Rainey did similar work home in 38.0.

 

The final gallops were solo over 1000M approx.  with 600 times in brackets,

Liquid Lez (38.3) Legally Blonde (37.4) Mary Louise (38.5) Puntura (37.3) Showbourne (37.5) Puntura was very unlucky last start and will be a big chance next week in the Denis Wheeler Earthmoving Taranaki cup on her home track Saturday 4th February.

 

Wellington Cup favourite Ladies Man and Waisake will gallop tomorrow.  The times for these gallops will be on the Taranaki Racing website by Thursday.
