Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Tuesday 3rd November 2026

Inside Rail | Track Conditions: Good 4

With New Plymouth Raceway currently under quarantine, trainers are remaining stoic as they navigate the challenges of the restrictions in place.

Horses and trainers are effectively working within their own bubbles, very much the equine version of the dreaded COVID days! Despite the circumstances, it's business as usual on the track, with some smart work recorded this morning.

Time honours of the morning went to the Sharrock stable, with two pairs producing identical work over 1000m.

Komocean and Bridal Train, along with Tullamore Dew and Sattriya, both worked over 1000m, coming home in a slick 34.5 seconds.

The aptly named Marryheral was another to catch the eye, working in company with an unnamed Staphanos over 1000m, finishing off nicely in 34.9 seconds.

Last-start winner Tisse worked in company with Fulla Grace over 1200m, with neither asked to do too much, yet still finishing off nicely in 35.5 seconds.

Bubbles Up and an unnamed US Navy Flag were no slouches either, covering 1000m and recording a respectable 35.2 seconds for their final 600m.

Not to be outdone, Secrets and Bella Tribute both looked well as they travelled over 1000m, coming home in 35.5 seconds for the final 600m.

Shacktime went about his business solo over 1000m and wasn't pushed, cruising home in 37.7 seconds for the final 600m.

Kingsbrook Diva and an unnamed Ocean Park were another pair to put in solid work over 1000m, recording 35.7 seconds for their final 600m.

Rounding out the timed gallops from the Sharrock stable were Ebony Bassett and Uninvited, who worked over 1000m, coming home in 35.35 seconds for the final 600m.

The Kim Reid-trained Hi Yo Sass Bomb also caught the eye, putting in good work solo over 1400m, completing the final 600m in 37 seconds flat.

Final Return worked solo over 1000m, completing the final 600m in 35.2 seconds. From the same barn, Special Sakura and Laura's Legacy completed similar work, coming home in 35.7 seconds.

Risque Ruler and Shadow Ruler also worked over 1000m, finishing off in a respectable 35 seconds flat.

Rounding out the recorded times from the  Millar Barn stable were Rocaphilly and Ain't It Fun, who put in a solid effort over 1000m, running their final 600m in 35 seconds.

here were only a handful of recorded times from the Patterson barn this morning, with Ma Te Wa and One Bold Cat well held throughout their 1000m gallop, running the final 600m in 36.4 seconds.

Wild At Heart worked solo over 1000m, finishing off nicely in 35.3 seconds, while Beauesk and King of Jazz weren't asked to do too much over the same distance, recording 36 seconds flat for their final 600m.

From the Taffy Hina stable, last-start winner Palmarow continued to tick along nicely, working solo over 1000m and coming home in 35.4 seconds for the final 600m.

Za Spirit also put in a tidy effort over 800m, recording 35.2 seconds for the final 600m, while Zaconic covered 1000m, finishing off in 35.9 seconds.

Last timed results for the week were an un-named Sham Express from the Debbie Harris Stables and the Taffy Hina trained Dojakata, working quietly over 800M, home in 36.5.

While it's certainly not the usual atmosphere around the training facility, the commitment and resilience of our local trainers and their teams remain evident. Hopefully, it won't be too long before the restrictions are lifted and things return to normal at New Plymouth Raceway.
