Very interesting field for the $80,000 ITM Interprovincial. Top weight is the Paul Richards trained Seajetz who will unusually carry the #14 saddle cloth as both owner and trainer hail from Otago and this have elected to run for that province, they are hoping for the first South Island victory in the 27th running of the event.
Historically the most winningest province is Auckland (5) from the Horowhenua (3). Only two provinces have never won the Interprovincial, Otago and Canterbury. So this year they have sound claims with Seajetz and and Hot Salsa. Cambridge trainer, John Bell elected to run for Canterbury whilst the Marton trained Blackwood Star, will run for North Auckland, who also didn’t have a nomination from that province.
Manolo will represent Wellington for the second successive year.
