With the track being closed in preparation for the AGFIRST Engineering Opunake Cup this Saturday, gallops on the course proper were restricted to horses racing up to and including 26th July.

Time honours of the morning went to striking chestnut Tisse, from the Allan Sharrock Barn, who galloped solo over 1200M, the last 600 in 39.7. He’ll look to head to Te Rapa for the Taumaranui Cup.

Liquid Les also worked on his own over 800M, the last 600 in a very respectable 40.0, being one of the last to work this morning. He’ll look to start on his home track this weekend.

Herding Cats and Dojakata were strong over 1000M, the last 600 in 41.0.

Brigit and Bella Timing did similar work over 100M, home in 40.7.

The Patterson trained pair of Beauesk and Belles Fate were well held over 1000M, the final 600 in 41.4.
