With the track closed for the past couple of weeks, in preparation for the Sinclair Electrical & Refrigeration Opunake Cup meeting this morning gallops were restricted to horses scheduled to start within the next 10 days. All but two nominated for the local meeting.
Time honours of the morning went to the Sharrock trained pair of Fleming and Lazio, working strongly over 1000M, the last 600 in 38.4.
Swingit Our Way and Explosive Impact looked impressive over 1200M, the last 600 in 38.9.
Last year’s Opunake Cup winner, Justaskme partnered with Libraci over 1000M, home in 39.0. Current track conditions will be in his favour for Saturday.
Last start winner Liquid Les worked solo over 1000M, the last 600 in 39.1.
Boy and Outer Focus were well held over 1200M, home in a respectable 39.2.
Smart Road and Tisse work over 1200M, while Mrs Webb and Indian Gold completed a strong gallop over 1000m, the last 600 in 39.7 and 40.0 respectively.
Tokyo Hot Night from the Harris stable and Dojakata worked a strong 1000M, the last 600 in 39.7. They have both been impressive in their last gallops and should be a good chance on their home track.
The Wheeler stable pair of Tiger Lily and Keen on Bubbles, worked a solid gallop over 1000M, the last 600 in 40.9.
The following gallops were all solo over 1000M, 600 times in brackets;
Charmzafarm (41.3), Urenui (41.8), Sackthepublican (41.0) and Hot Shockolat (42.0).
From the Patterson stable Belladonna Lilly and Ragamuffin, Catherinz and Readaboutit galloped over 1000M, the last 600 in 41.2 and 41.2.
Conor O’Ceirin galloped solo over 1200M, the last 600 in 40.6 and heads to Oamaru with stablemate Margherita Veloce.
