Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Course Proper / Markers 22m / Track Heavy

After significant recent rain the track was very heavy for the session & times were very slow with few gallops breaking 40s for the last 600.

Suntribute & Looxlikeapro ran 1200m finishing attractively the last 600m in 39.1.  This was an excellent gallop.

Time honours of the morning went to Darci La Bella & Sophmaze who ran a strong 1000m, home in 38.8.

Jumpers’ from the Wheeler Stable ran 1600m with Quaff & Chief Sequoiah fastest home in 43.3.  Shocking Bill & Songsungblu took 44.1.  All four may go to Hawke’s Bay.

From the Millar team Diogenes & One of the Best galloped 1200  the last 600 in 39.4.  Tequila Spirit & Final Return did similar work the last 600 in 40.1.

Play a Part & Ladies Man ran an even 1000m the last 600 in 39.9.  This was a sound effort.

Secret Armour & Bendermerry ran 1000m sprinting the last 600 in 40.8.  Secret Armour looked to be travelling comfortably & will be very competitive at Wanganui Saturday.

Stevie Nyx & Cherry Rose were together over 1000m, the last 600 in 41.3.

The final gallops were all solo over 1000m approx with the last 600m times in brackets. 

Twitchy Squirrel (44.3), Littlehoovesgotmoves (43.3), Wattabreeze (40.7), Cya Maria (39.7), Justaskme (39.2), Liquid Les (39.5). 

Cya Maria In particular looked to be working well.
