Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Despite over 25 locals going to the Waverley Trials, it was still a busy morning with times getting slower as the track chipped out.
Once again Total Sass and Barocca impressed. When running a solid 1000m, the last 600 in 37.8. Time honours of the morning with to Rhuzick and Pure Incanto. They ran a strong 1000m, the last 600 in 37.4.
Bubblegum looked improved by its first up effort when running 1200m, with Beaudzwell, the last 600m in 38.0. Both are quick improvers.
Darci La Bella was paired with Wattabreeze over 800m, the last 600m in 39.0. Wattabreeze didn’t get much luck last start.
Shelby, and the unnamed Iffraaj, in the Harris stable ran a sharp 800m, the last 600 in 38.0. Shelby ran on well last start and is nearing form.
From the Patterson barn The Fearless One and Nun Hissing ran 1000m, the last 600 in 38.1, whilst stablemate Sir Caleb worked similarly with the unnamed Shocking in Kim Reid’s stable. They were home in 40.8.
Zeefa Zed and Sweet Karma impressed with a strong 1000m, the last 600 in 38.4. Zeefa Zed looks strong.
Also from the Wheeler team Black Eyed Suzie and The Big Boss worked an even 1400m, the last 600m in 41.9.
Gerda and It’s Not That Easy were together over 1200m, the last 600m in 38.5.
From the Millar stable Ginger Snapz and La Strada worked from the 1000m mark, home in 38.8. Ginger Snapz has been working well for a while now.
Stablemates, Shezabelter and Elegant Charm ran only 800m, the last 600 in 38.1. This was a good time late in the session.
Meila Rei and the unnamed Revell Shocking ran 800m as well, the last 600m in 41.8.
Jumpers, Roc Ya Sox and Chief Sequoia ran a solid 1000m, the last 600m in 40.0.
From the Wheeler team the following pairs galloped 1400m – Wicklow/Fredy, Ballina/Mr Enthusiastic, Castle On The Hill finished two lengths in front of Pinsk, Remarx/Irish Flare. All worked strongly and ran between 41 and 42 seconds for the last 600m.
The last gallops were all over 800m or 1000m, with the last 600m in brackets.
Spanish Harlem (38.1), Reliable Miss (38.0), Wine N Dine (41.3). Reliable Miss was impressive and is in a great vein of form.
