Trackwork at New Plymouth Raceway

Course Proper. Markers 24m. Track Heavy
After significant rain through the weekend, the track was in the heavy range.
Rosewood appreciated the track when running 1200m, with Hi I’m Nikita, the last 600m in 39.7. Rosewood appears to be more forward than last year.
Collinstreet looks improved by his recent trial ran 1000m with Sumi, the last 600m in 38.2. Sumi was very unlucky at Te Rapa.
Butler, who was impressive at the Waverley trials, ran a strong 800m, with Darci Labella, the last 600m in 38.0. It was an impressive gallop.
Smarty Pants was paired with yet to be named Falkirk in the Millar barn. They ran an even 1000m, sprinting the last 600 in 39.0. Rhuzick and an unnamed Proisir did similar work, home in 40.3.
Barroca and an unnamed Keano in the Debbie Harris barn ran 1000m, the last 600 in 39.8. The Keano won at the Waverley trials and does show promise.
Sir Caleb and Winkle Bay ran 1000m, the last 600 in 40.6. Winkle Bay maybe an improver for Saturday at New Plymouth.
Meila Rei and Hot Chocolate sprinted 800m, the last 600 in 40.7. They appeared to be travelling well.
Express Yourself and Swiss Kitty also ran over 800m, the 600 in 39.1.
The Wheeler team all worked on the sand. Beaudzwell and Zeefa Zed ran 1600m, the last 600 in 39.7. it was a strong gallop,
The final gallops were solo over 800m or 1000m. Their last 600m times were Shelby 41.4 and Secret Squirrel 41.5.
